BRT Annual Notice of Change Mailing
August 20th, 2009
The Board of Revision of Taxes (BRT) has recently mailed Notices of Change in
Market Value and/or Assessed Value to about 15,000 property owners across the
City. The notices are the result of the normal business operations of the BRT,
including the posting of new property accounts, additions and alterations to
existing property accounts and abatement implementations. An application for
Appeal of the new valuation has been included with each notice letter, as well
as information regarding Special Provisions for Low Income Senior Citizens.
It should be noted that the property valuation changes that are detailed on
these notices are not connected with the BRT’s Actual Value Initiative.
